We are delighted to announce that Sullivan’s Brewing Compant will be sponsoring ‘Ireland’s Guest & Country House Hotel ‘ at the Gold Medal Hotel Awards 2025!
Founded in 1702 in Kilkenny and at its height in the late 1800’s Sullivan’s was exporting to USA, Australia and across Europe. Having fallen on troubled times in 1918 due to a sizeable lost horse-bet in Douville France, the brewery & trademarks were acquired by James Smithwick in 1919, the brand being dormant ever since. The Smithwick family revived the business in 2016 with the mission of bringing brewing back to Kilkenny, after the Smithwick brewery was moved to Dublin in 2012. Relaunching Sullivan’s in the heartland of Irish ale brewing has long been a mission of their founders, and they’re enormously proud that after over a century their brewery’s doors are once again opened, in central Kilkenny.
Its global footprint has expanded to 24 countries and 49 states in USA. They are highly focused on bringing premium traditional Irish ales around the world, and they fly the Irish flag proudly both at home & overseas on this great adventure.
As we celebrate over 36 years of hospitality excellence, we want to shine a light on the incredible people who make it all possible. Our generous sponsors keep the celebration alive each year, and our esteemed judges, true legends of the industry, bring passion and expertise to every entry they review. A Gold Medal isn’t just an award; it’s a nod from the very best. So as you perfect your submission, know you’re part of a proud Irish tradition powered by great people.
